Furnell wins Best Singer in State competition

Olivia Furnell of Simpsonville won the Best Singer in the State competition Saturday at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville. She won $500 and a trophy and is scheduled to appear on Your Carolina.

Olivia Furnell of Simpsonville won the Best Singer in the State competition Saturday at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville. She won $500 and a trophy and is scheduled to appear on Your Carolina hosted by Jack Roper and Kimberly Kelly on Thursday.

Brionah Pride of Greer participated in the competition.

Robert Hoefer founded the event with a collaborative project between Pitch Doctors LLC, the South Carolina Institute for Vocal Training, and South Carolina district schools.  The competition is to identify, encourage, motivate, promote, and reward vocal music development and excellence within school districts in South Carolina.
