Greer Police Department detectives believe the crime spree in the city of Greer, including a bank robbery Tuesday and two restaurants on Monday, were committed by the same suspect, according to Lt. Patrick Fortenberry.
Fortenberry said the bank robbery at The Bank of Travelers Rest on Tuesday, and the robberies at Sub Station II and the Waffle House on Monday were committed by the same suspect. No other information was released Wednesday by Fortenberry.
All three crimes gave the same description of the suspect, wearing dark clothing and a blue bandana covering his face. The suspect also left all three crime scenes on foot. Greer Police reportedly arrived within minutes of receiving calls to each business being held up.
A K9 was reportedly used to try to locate the suspect after the Sub Station II holdup, but GPD did not indicate what methods were used to track down the suspect in the other two crimes.
Fortenberry said, "We do continue to ask that if anyone has any additional information to please contact the Greer Police Department at (864) 848-2151."
