CBL Charitable Foundation has awarded $10,000 higher education scholarships to three local students.

Greer High School seniors Candace Jensen and Victoria Schneider were both winners of the 2107 Robert F. Williams Scholarship, named for a past CBL Board Chairman and member of the South Carolina State Board of Education. Jensen will attend the University of Georgia, while Schneider will attend Clemson University.

Micah Arms of Taylors, a senior at Blue Ridge High School, was awarded the 2017 Citizens Building and Loan Scholarship. He will attend Furman University.

The grants are for the students' first year attending universities.

The CBL Foundation Higher Education Scholarships target deserving students graduating in the Greer area who may not otherwise be eligible for scholarship funding. Scholarship money is sent directly to the winner’s institution of choice to help offset tuition costs.

Students interested in applying will find the applications and qualifications on the bank’s website at cblgreer.com. Applications are due by April 15 of applicants’ senior year.
