The Yellow Jackets, the No. 3 seed in Region III will play at Fort Mill Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Greer is 14-11 and Fort Mill, the No. 2 seed in Region IV is 16-7.
Greer is the only team to beat No. 1-ranked Eastside this season. LaBrian’s near half-court three-point shot at the end of the game gave Greer a 61-59 win on Dec. 30.
If Greer wins its first round game the second game will be at No. 1 see Eastside on Friday, unless Walhalla pulls a big upset of the top-ranked Eagles on Tuesday. All games are 7 p.m. unless noted.
LaBrian Shiflet, who scored 23 points Thursday night is Greer’s leading scorer and averages over 27 points a game. Dre Terry has shown signs of being a top scorer, with his 27-point production last Tuesday night an example. Terry scored 12 points against Blue Ridge.
“Our goal was to win this game (SCA) and get into the playoffs on a positive note,” Neely said after Tuesday’s game. He said a win over Blue Ridge would give the players an extra boost of confidence.
Greer beat Blue Ridge Thursday night 67-47 in its final regular season game. The Yellow Jackets eased pass a pesky Spartanburg Christian Academy on Tuesday night in the seniors’ final regular season game at Greer High School.
The Greer girls did not make the playoffs.
