The Greer Harvest Market begins its fall scheduled Sunday at the City Park promenade with a free inspirational concert series each week through Nov. 11.

God Bless America is the first week’s theme in remembrance of the 11th anniversary of the victims of 9/11 in the terrorist’s attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and plane crash in Shanksville, Pa.

“There will be themes every week,” said Laurie Campbell, events supervisor. Rosh-Hashanah Fest of Trumpets is Sept. 16, Sukkot Feast of Tabernacles is Sept. 30, and Veteran’s Day is Nov. 11. Others will be named later.

The market and activities are 1-5 p.m. Lighthouse Live Music has booked the entertainment. Campbell said arts, crafts, jewelry and items from Acme General Store and merchants from the Grapevine will be displaying their products.

Sunday a devotion by Pastor Bob Aho, administrator for Ashlan Village will begin the program. Carol Snelling will perform Christian country music from 1:15 – 2 p.m., followed by Dave Aho  (2-3 p.m.) will feature patriotic and easy listening, Travis Malachi (3-4 p.m.) sings Christian country and South Rock and Snelling will end the day’s events (4:15-5 p.m.).

Vendors include Acme General Store, Sharon Sharp Designs (jewelry), Low Country Kettle Corn, Dave’s Birdhouses, The Hicks Family – Handcrafted Goods and Screamin’ Good Bakery. No produce will be sold this year due it being the latter part of the growing and harvesting season.
