Two Greer students recorded the highest score at the Piano Performers Spring Music Guild competition that included pianists from South Carolina and North Carolina.

Grace Besser and Victoria Conner achieved the highest score in music theory and piano performance. This is only the second time in 21 years that a student from Greer has achieved this honor, according to the Greer Recreation Department that offers piano classes and exhibitions.

Kay Young is the teacher for piano students and is also the instructor for the summer camp. Registration for new students is being held for classes, held Mondays at the Cannon Centre, that are for 30-minute and one-hour sessions.

The class teaches basic skills in reading music and playing the piano

Call Kay Young at 864-574-5967 for more information. From left to right: Kay Young ( instructor), Grace Besser, Victoria Conner, Sandy Poole (Presenter).
