Greer police suspends facial hair policy, kids will benefit
This month, you may notice some Greer Police officers with a little more facial hair than usual.

Traditional grooming standards regarding facial hair are being relaxed so employees can participate in the month long No-Shave November. It's customary that officers are only allowed to have a mustache.

“No-Shave November” has been going on throughout the country for several years, and this is a way to build morale and raise money for a worthy cause,” Lieutenant Patrick Fortenberry said.

With the donation of $25 dollars to the “Cops for Tots” program, employees of the Greer Police Department will be allowed to grow a beard, too.

This is the 30th year for the Cops for Tots program and through the police department’s partnerships with community members and businesses the GPD have provided toys to children who otherwise may not receive any for Christmas.
