Last week: Clinton was shut out at A.C. Flora, 27-0, in Week 0. Greer did not play.

What to look for:

GREER: Greer QB Mario Cusano (1,941 yards, 20 TDs as sophomore last year returns with a fleet of receivers in Dorian Lindsey, Zach Glidden and Adrian McGee. McGee, Lindsey and Quay Thackston will duel for running back position that graduated Quez Nesbitt, all-time Greer rushing leader. Cole Henderson (6-3, 265) anchors offensive line. Nakeem Hoke is a big play defensive lineman and teams well with Tyquan Lyles. Kicker Nick Roberson and punter Jake Arrowood are arguably the best 1-2 punch in the Region and possibly the Upstate.

CLINTON: Playing Clinton means player-to-player combat in the trenches with the Red Devils a traditional running team. Shakeam Dowdy (20 carries, 49 yards) and Ty Mims (8-28) carried the load in Clinton’s loss to A.C. Flora. Quarterback Jay Fuller only passed six times, completing two to his receivers and one to Flora. The Red Devils defense held its own in a 0-0 first half. The second half was all Flora with four rushing TDs. Clinton will control the game, if allowed. As an example the Red Devils were on the short end of rushing yards (88-190), passing (31-145) and first downs (7-14), yet had possession for 29:45 vs. Flora’s 16:31. Clinton punter was the most effective weapon with 38.4 yard average on seven kicks – including a long of 58, 1 downed inside the 20 and one a touchback.

Line: Greer 13 ½.  Points 33.
