“Greer is a great location and has a thriving downtown, that is a melting pot, convenient to many areas and businesses and great restaurants,” said Kristi Farmer, Greer Branch Manager, at the 104 Trade Street location.
Farmer did the honors of cutting the traditional ribbon and accepting the Chamber of Commerce’s symbolic first dollar of profit.
Farmer has 27 years of sales experience in underwriting and loan originating and has earned awards for outstanding customer service and President’s club status. She started the non-profit Operation We Care SC, which was created in memory of her father, Sgt. James T. Kerns, who was an Army Ranger.
The Greer office has six employees and more may be added soon. “Greer is a great city to expand a company. The company is expanding, we are actually looking at adding a few new loan officers,” said Dwight Bennett, Spartanburg branch manager.
Frank Hilliard, a loan officer with 30 years experience, joined Guild Mortgage after returning to Greer following 20 years of traveling for business. Hilliard’s blog for homebuyers has a solid following in the upstate.
The company, with upstate offices in Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson, offers Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA/Rural Housing and Jumbo financing. The full service lender offers local processing and closing.

“We focus on customer service and do everything to please them,” Bennett said.
