Halloween Hoopla Greer City Park set for Oct. 22

Freedom Fellowship presents Halloween Hoopla Greer City Park on Saturday, Oct. 22. 
Each year, this event attracts several thousand people who come to enjoy the free candy, crafts, and entertainment which are all provided in a safe, family friendly, and alcohol-free environment. Food and rides are also available at a reasonable cost. 
Freedom Fellowship and the City of Greer have partnered again to make this annual event a fun-filled celebration for the community. 
‘Hairspray’ dance clinics begin SaturdayFree dance clinics are scheduled Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon to prepare for Greer Children’s Theatre “Hairspray” auditions. The clinic dates are Oct. 15 and 22. There are a limited number of spaces available and it’s first come, first served.Audition dates are Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27-28, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m. - noon. Callbacks are Saturday, Oct. 29 6-10 p.m. n Auditions are held at 226 Oakland Avenue.
South Carolina Children’s Theatre presents Tell Me A Story
Tell Me A Story is a chance for small children (Pre-K) to hear a favorite story. The material may include audience participation segments or simple audience interaction and will last no longer than 30 minutes.October 17- 12:15 p.m. October 18 – 11 a.mThe story will be: Bear Feels Scared by Karma Wilson. $1/person.
The theatre is located at 153 Augusta St., Greenville.
November events:
Art show to showcase Greer's young artists
The Giving Thanks Art Show Artists Reception will be held Nov. 6 from 2-6 p.m. at the Greer Event Complex.
The show will showcase Greer’s young artists from grades K-5 through 12th grade. Winners will be chosen in elementary, middle and high school levels. These winners will be displayed in the City Hall lobby leading up to the Thanksgiving holidays. 
The submission criteria are listed below and must be followed in order for your piece to be judged. The theme for the art show is “What I am Thankful For” and should represent what Thanksgiving means to you. 
Contest is free to enter. • Artistic Media Allowed: Artwork may ONLY be in the following forms: pencil, paint, crayons or pastels. • Must be matted and include the artists name, grade, school and contact information on the back of the piece. • Submissions may be dropped off to City Hall during normal business hours of Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. • Deadline for Submission will be Oct. 24. • Pieces MUST be picked up on Nov. 30.
‘Annie’ on stage at J. Harley Bonds Career Center Nov. 4-13
‘Annie’ begins a six-performance engagement Nov. 4-13 at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center. Performances are weekends of Nov. 4-6 and 11-13. Friday and Saturday performances are 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees are 2 p.m. Admission is $13 for adults, $10 for students/seniors and $6 for children under 5. Events scheduled for Christmas at Greer City Park 
Christmas at Greer City Park, presented by Village at Pelham, will begin Dec. 2 with the tree lighting ceremony.
Breakfast with Santa presented by Village at Pelham will be held on Dec. 3, as well as Polar Express.
Children 16 and under need to be accompanied by an adult at all times during events.The Greer Jaycees Christmas Parade is set for Dec. 4 in downtown Greer.

• GREER OPRY HOUSE: Friday night, Oct. 21, "Overtime Band" with Betty Gentry. Saturday night, Oct. 22, "Classic Country Band" with Ed Burrell. Friday night, Oct. 28, "Overtime Band" with Betty Gentry. Saturday night, Oct. 29, "Classic Country Band" with Ed Burrell. Bands begin performing at 8 p.m. Admission is $9.
