The brief ceremony for the Daily Bread Ministries project sets in motion for site preparation to begin within 10 days. The lone house will be razed, trees removed and ground prepared for concrete to be poured. “Right after the pouring of the concrete we will put the building to dry,” Project Manager Norman West said.
Putting the frame of the buildings up this month will allow construction to continue regardless of rain or cold temperatures throughout the winter, West said.
Occupancy for the first three families and full-time mentor is scheduled for February 2015. Priority will be given to veterans and families.
Cash donations have reached $185,000 for the $450,000 project. In-kind donations have yet to be announced.
