Stephanie McGrath's Fresh Picked Vintage boutique expresses her love for repurposing and junk. She didn't begin appreciating the hobby until she became a homeowner. Her appetite for junk and repurposing was whet when her dad took her to flea markets as a child.

"You won't find me talking about vintage fashion or the latest vintage dress I bought because I live in T-shirts and jeans," Stephanie said. "I love to talk about home decorating, repurposing the old to make it new again, and of course finding junk. In the last year I went to my first estate sale and I've been hooked ever since."

Stephanie, a wife and mom to a 5-year-old, has to shoehorn in time for her passion between a full-time job.

"I try to cram as much junk/vintage/decorating love as I can into the hours of the day I have left," Stephanie said.

Stephanie has lived in the Carolina – Charlotte, Charleston, Greenville – the past 15 years.

"About two years ago I started attending more yard sales, my first estate sale, and since then have fallen in love with antiques and vintage items," Stephanie said. "One of my focuses is on painted furniture. I use Annie Sloan chalk paint and love fixing up thrift and vintage finds."

Stephanie hopes Fresh Picked Vintage becomes her full-time focus."I've met some incredibly talented women who are just as passionate and are so willing to help and support each other which has made this journey that much more fun."

Stephanie reminds her customers to look for her latest project coming soon. She's turning a vintage chicken feeder into an industrial style light fixture.
