The Chairman's Award is presented to an individual who has been invaluable to the chamber's outgoing chairperson. Recipients have helped the chairperson and the chamber execute the organization's mission of championing economic prosperity for chamber members and the community as a whole.
Porter is vice-chairman for finance on the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce Executive Board. Active with the chamber since 2005, she has served in various leadership roles on the Executive Board of Directors including board chairman in 2018.
She has been employed with Greenville Technical College for 20 years, starting as an academic advisor and counselor and later serving as Student Services supervisor. She currently serves as director of Greenville Technical College's Benson Campus and interim director of the Brashier Campus, overseeing daily operations and providing leadership for campuses that collectively serve over two thousand students.
Porter earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Lander University and a master's degree in education from Clemson University.
