Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11, and many national chains are saying "thank you" to veterans and active military members by offering freebies and deals on food and drinks.
Just remember, many of the offers require proof of ID or a uniform.
Here's a list of national chains and restaurants participating:
Applebee's: Free meal from a special menu and get a $5 coupon that can be redeemed Nov. 12-27.
Back Yard Burgers: Free Back Yard Classic Burger.
Baskin-Robbins: For every ice cream scoop sold in the U.S., the company will donate 11 cents to United Service Organizations.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Free small order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries.
Chicken Salad Chick: Veterans get a free Original Chick meal, which includes a chicken salad scoop or sandwich, side, pickle and cookie, with a drink. No purchase necessary. Find locations here.
Chili's: Free meal from a special menu.
Chipotle: From 3 p.m. to close, all U.S. military, military spouses and veterans get a buy one get one free burrito, bowl, salad or tacos.
Cracker Barrel: Free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake.
Denny's: From 5 a.m. to noon, active, inactive and retired military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam.
FATZ Café: Free World Famous Calabash Chicken entrée. Includes half-pound Calabash Chicken, Signature Sidekick and choice of soup or salad. No additional purchase required. 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Fazoli's: Veterans will receive a free "Build Your Own Pasta Bowl" on Nov. 11.
Hooters: Variety of entrees from Veterans free meal menu.
IHOP: Free red, white and blue pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Krispy Kreme: One free doughnut and small coffee.
Krystal: Complimentary breakfast Sausage Biscuit from opening until 11 a.m.
Little Caesars: Free Hot-N-Ready lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Logan’s Roadhouse: Free meal from a special menu. Selections include 6-ounce choice cut sirloin, wood-grilled chicken or salmon and southern fried fish, among others.
LongHorn Steakhouse: Free appetizer or dessert, and veterans and their guests will receive 10% off their meal.
O’Charley’s Restaurant and Bar: Free meal from $9.99er menu. Selections are O’Charley’s Famous Chicken Tenders & Fries, Honey Drizzled Southern-Fried Chicken, and Homestyle Chicken Pot Pie. Other choices.
Olive Garden: Veterans and active duty service members get a free entree.
On The Border: Free combo 2 or 3 plate. There are more than 150 possible meal combinations available through the Create Your Own Combo. Includes complimentary endless tortilla chips and house made salsa.
Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion and Coca-Cola. Between Nov. 12 – Dec. 31 15 percent off for military families.
Quaker Steak & Lube: Complimentary or discounted meal of choice. Contact the local restaurant for restrictions.
Red Lobster: Veterans, active duty military and reservists get a free appetizer or dessert with a valid military ID on November 10th and 11th.
Red Robin: All veterans and active duty military get a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger and bottomless steak fries at participating restaurants nationwide. Red Robin is also donating $10,000 to United Service Organizations.
Ruby Tuesday: Free appetizer up to $10.
Ryan’s: Free buffet and drink to all veterans.
Sticky Fingers Smokehouse: Free pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and cole slaw.
Texas Roadhouse: Free lunch. Plus choice of ice tea, soft drink or coffee.
TGI Friday’s: Free lunch menu item up to $12 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Tijuana Flats: Free entrée.
TravelCenters of America: At TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers free complimentary meal from selected menu for veteran and holding a CDL.
Tucanos Brazilian Grill: Free Churrasco for veteran with the purchase of another adult Churrasco. Nov. 10-12.
Twin Peaks: Free menu item from a special annual Veterans Day Appreciation Menu.
Wayback Burgers: Free Wayback Classic Cheeseburger with the purchase of any side and any drink at participating locations.
Yard House: Complimentary appetizer.
