Families are preparing lawn mowers and children are getting ready for another festive event that will end with a fireworks show. NewSpring Church is hosting Race Day 500 on Saturday.
The festival will be held at Simpsonville’s Heritage Park, 861 SE Main Street, 4 p.m. until dark.
A lawn mower race awards the winner $1,000 cash. There will even be a kid’s lawn mower race.
Race Day 500 will have tailgating with live music by Steel Toe Stiletto. Family events include laser tag, a game truck, food vendors, inflatables, climbing wall, obstacle course, zorb racing and carnival games.
“This is an event for the entire community to come together and celebrate summer,” said Perry Noble, senior pastor and founder of NewSpring Church.
“We know summer can be a busy time for everyone. Our goal for these festivals is for friends and families to kick back, relax and enjoy an evening together. These events really have something for everyone. There will be plenty for everyone to enjoy,” said Suzanne Swift, NewSpring spokeswoman.
