John William "Bill" Millwood, Sr., 88, widower of Martha Robinson Millwood, formerly of Brookwood Drive, passed away at the McCall Hospice House on October 25, 2013.
A native of Lyman, he served as a Marine Raider during WWII and spent a career as a printer in the textile industry. He was a member of Greer First Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Greenville Hospital System.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Cathy Millwood; grandson and wife, J.W. and Angela Millwood; three great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Millwood, Henry Millwood and Sam Millwood; one cousin, Alice Revis; one step-daughter, Sydney and husband George Davenport; three step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren.
Mr. Millwood was predeceased by two sons, Patrick Millwood and John William "Billy" Millwood and his second wife, Helen "Patty" Newton Millwood.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery conducted by Rev. Wayne Cole.
The family extends many thanks to the staff at Rolling Green Assisted Living Facility of Greenville, Belvedere Commons of Seneca, as well as the McCall Hospice of Simpsonville.
