Doris Johnson Forrester, 93, of Greer, South Carolina, wife of the late Harold Dean Forrester, passed away June 7, 2024.

A native of Inman, South Carolina, daughter of the late Creed Weldon "Red" and Ruby Hammett Johnson, she was an educator for 36 years, having taught at Carlisle Elementary, Central Elementary, Tryon Street Elementary, and Skyland Elementary Schools, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Doris was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Joan McCarter and Joy Fowler Mills (Nelson) all of Greer; one son, Glen Forrester (Mitzie) of Greer; six grandchildren, Luke Forrester, Allie McAbee, Zachery Fowler, Cody Fowler (Inessa), Rebekah Fowler, and Amanda Bailey (Jamie); and four great-grandchildren, Colton Bailey, Cadence Bailey, McKenna McAbee, and Mia Fowler.

She was also predeceased by two brothers, Hugh Wayne Johnson and Dr. Henry Austin Johnson.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Rick Shubert and Rev. Danny Emory. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

The pallbearers will be Cody Fowler, Luke Forrester, Zachery Fowler, Nelson Mills, Jamie Bailey, and Stewart Shaw.

The family extends special thanks to the Interim Hospice team and Jodi Carter, caregiver, for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4899 Jordan Road, Greer, SC 29651.
