Roy Lee Newton, 81, passed away June 14, 2021.

A native of Abbeville, son of the late R.L. and Sue Garner Newton, he was a former employee for BI-LO and a member of Apalache Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving is his wife of 60 years Carrie Mae Coleman Newton of the home; three daughters, Shirley Howard (Michael) of Greer; Tammy McCraw (Harold) of Lyman; Lynn Ward (Arthur) of Taylors; one son, Larry Newton (Emelia) of Landrum; one brother, Fred Newton (Lorena) of Gaffney; one sister, Susie Rogers of Greer; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Roy and Carrie would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on July 12th.

Funeral Services:

Mr. Newton was predeceased by one brother, Jerald Newton: four sisters, Bobbie Sue Lister, Katie Hampton, Mary Bowman and Lou Ellen Bowman.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Pastor Joe Price.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at The Wood Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Steven McCraw, Dale Howard, Erik Bryant, Matthew Ward, Chris Hill, and Matthew Howard.
