The Pizza Hut at 306 Wade Hampton Boulevard had a complete makeover with a new prototype last year.

The Pizza Hut at 306 Wade Hampton Blvd. is one year removed from a complete remodeling and the move has ushered in more customers and better profits for the restaurant.

General Manager Russell Kowalczyk said a new prototype, better atmosphere and expanded lunch buffet helped generate a bigger customer base.

"The effect has been awesome," Kowalczyk said. "We've had some great customer response. (The interior) looks more like an upscale restaurant and customers seem to appreciate the changes we made."

Kowalczyk said customer traffic has steadily increased since the project was completed one year ago.

"We have people coming back each week compared to when we had the old, dreary look. People tend to like it a lot more," Kowalczyk said.

Pizza Hut has brought back its lunch buffet, a move that has been popular, according to Kowalczyk "We started back up with the buffet and we're fixing to make more changes to that.”

That may include offering the buffet to customers seven days a week instead of five.

Buffet options will be increasing, too. "Anything anybody wants will go on the buffet," Kowalczyk said. "Chicken wings, bread sticks, different pizzas, and deserts will all be on there."
