The Greer Police Department is asking for help for information on a suspect in an armed robbery at the Game Stop store at 14039 E. Wade Hampton at 7:25 a.m. today.

Police report the suspect entered the store and demanded the money out of the registers. The report said $263 in cash was stolen.

The suspect was described as a white male, age 35-40-years old, 5-8 to 5-10 tall and weighing 150-160 pounds with brown and grey medium length hair length with light stubble. He wore a large black T-shirt with no writing, light colored blue jeans or khakis and tan boots.

He was armed with a knife and reportedly was driving a green or greenish-blue older model Chevrolet S-10 with sliding back glass.

The police reported the subject first approached a store employee and asked about what kind of games they took on trade. The employee stated that he answered him and the subject continued looking around the store for about two to three minutes.

The employee stated that the subject then approached him again and stated he needed the money in the register. The employee stated that at first he thought the subject was joking around, but he saw the subject with his hand in his pocket and was told he had a knife. Upon opening a register, the employee said he heard the subject’s knife opening.

The subject asked the employee to open two registers where the cash was taken.

The suspect’s knife is described as a black handled folding knife with a silver serrated blade, approximately 2-3 inches in length. The two store employees were instructed to go to the back of the store and the suspect left as they complied.
