Abbott’s frozen custard and the Blue Ridge Brewing Company are both scheduled to open in the final quarter this year at opposite ends in downtown Greer.
That provides a good opportunity for the public to offer its input Thursday on a downtown walking and bicycling master plan that will safely connect visitors to the central business district, retail shops and restaurants.
An initiative in the Greer Community Master Plan calls for more safe connectivity – for walkers and bikers – through downtown to high-volume public entities.
A workshop and presentation is scheduled at the Cannon Centre Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The presentation is 6 p.m.
Those in attendance will receive a free pedometer or bicycle reflector.
“With improvements planned in major corridors in the city, this is an opportunity to examine and plan new ways to make the city walk- and bike-friendly,” said Ann Cunningham, director of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
