Makeovers, facelifts and restoration are the key elements in Debbie Dather's Redeemed Furniture business at The Shoppes at The Grapevine.

Redeemed Furniture specializes in restoring the value and life to quality pieces of furniture.  "We start by finding well-built pieces that are unique and functional but are in need of some love," Dather said. "Then we dream.  What would add value, character, and make this piece something everyone will talk about?  Out of that comes redeemed furniture."

Dather said she enjoys working favorite pieces of furniture found in her clients' homes when not searching for furniture to be redeemed. Tables, chairs, mirrors, shelves and hall trees are some of the furniture she has made over.

Dather said Redeeming is about second chances. "I think about my own redeeming and how my second chance started a new life for me. All those ugly marks and scratches that I acquired going through life are now covered. A new 'color' is on me and I am a new creation. Just as these pieces come with marks and scratches, they are also covered and now have a second chance.

Visit Redeemed Furniture at The Shoppes at the Grapevine open house at 211 Trade Street next Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
