Greer’s 35-7 win over Blue Ridge tonight handed the Yellow Jackets (8-2, 6-1) the top seed from the region thanks to a tie-break of fewest defensive points allowed in games involving Greer, Greenville and Blue Ridge.
With the three-way tie settled, the Tigers (9-1, 6-1) earned the No. 2 seed by virtue of their head-to-head win over Greenville earlier this season. Third-seeded Greenville (7-3, 6-1) ended its season with a 62-13 win over Eastside.
Pickens defeated Southside 41-18 in what was a virtual play-in game for the Class 3A playoffs to wrap up the No. 4 seed.
Greer and Blue Ridge will host first-round playoff games next Friday, while Greenville and Pickens will be on the road. Teams with Region II will match up with teams from Region IV.
According to the S.C. High School League's Class 3A bracket, Greer, as the top seed from Region II, will face an at-large opponent, not necessarily the No. 4 seed from Region IV. Dreher (7-3) would be the No. 4 seed from Region IV.
No. 1 Greer will host at-large opponent to be announced
No. 2 Blue Ridge will host No. 3 Lower Richland (4-6)
No. 3 Greenville travels to No. 2 Chapin (5-5)
No. 4 Pickens (5-5) travels to Region IV champion No. 1 A.C. Flora (9-1).
