Spartanburg’s first visit to Riverside turned into another Region II-4A nightmare for the Warriors Friday night.

The Vikings exploded for 26 third-quarter points en route to a 54-3 victory over Riverside in the conference-opening game for both teams.

Senior running back Jamie Bowe led Spartanburg (2-3 overall, 1-0 region) with 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.

Riverside’s only points came on a Ted Menfrey field goal in the second quarter.

Senior running back Lamoris Stoddard compiled 84 yards on 26 rush attempts to lead Riverside (1-4, 0-1).

The Warriors have lost 13 straight Region II-4A games since moving to Class 4A two years ago.
