LaBrian Shiflet and Dre Terry combined for 58 points to lead the Greer Yellow Jackets to a 74-62 non-region victory over Spartanburg Christian Academy tonight.

Greer plays its final regular season game Thursday at Blue Ridge. A win secures the No. 3 Region III-3A seed and will send the Yellow Jackets on the road for a first round state playoff game next Tuesday.

Shiflet was the game's high scorer with 29 points, two more than Terry. "That's pretty good when teams are defending (Shiflet) all the time," Greer coach Jeff Neely said. "It's good to see Dre score. We need a second scorer."

Shiflet's 12 points outscored SCA in the first quarter alone.Terry spread his scoring evenly – 7, 7, 5, 8.

Greer sprinted to a 22-9 first quarter advantage and saw SCA scramble back to swap the lead several times in the third quarter. The Yellow Jackets coasted to the win in the fourth quarter as SCA starters K'wan Brown and Derrick Hackle fouled out trying to slow the Greer express.

"We played pretty good and at times the defense looked good," Neely said. "The biggest problem we had was letting them back into the game."

Shiflet said SCA was one of the more disciplined teams Greer has played this year. "They were a very fundamental, sound team," Shiflet said. "They kept running the back door screen and the high post over and over."

Shiflet said SCA's comeback was more the Yellow Jackets easing their defensive pressure. "The second half I think we thought they wouldn't keep running their plays. But they did, over and over. They were an excellent team."

Chase Bell scored 17 points, Adam Patrick 16 and Brown 12 to lead SCA.
