Christofferson, owner of the Great Bay Oyster House (GBOH), was the recipient of the first benefit last year as friends, customers and business acquaintances helped raise over $6,000 for medical expenses.
Six bands will perform: Greg Payne, Will McGibbon, Hit Mob 7, The Swingin’ Richards, David Reed, Bill Rhodes and Friends, and the Piedmont Boys. The concert begins at 7 p.m. A $20 donation is suggested. Beer and wine will be sold.
The beneficiary is Tucker Reeves, 3, from Greer who is battling a rare and aggressive cancer that affects the brain and spine.
Christofferson's daughter, Katie, went to school with the boy's parents. Carley Reeves, Tucker’s mother, is a first grade teacher at Thomas E. Kern Elementary School in Greenville.
Christofferson has been undergoing chemo and radiation for bladder cancer diagnosed last year. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor recently that is also being treated.
Christofferson frequently visits the GBOH and continues participating in community events. He was at the Oyster Roast last month preparing oysters. “That’s always a fun event. I had to be there for that,” Christofferson said.
Christofferson said he would also be at Thursday’s benefit. “I’ll definitely be there.”
