“The BMW Group achieved its best ever sales figures in the first half of this year and last month, despite the prevailing headwinds in some European markets. We aim to continue our sales growth in the second half of the year with new models such as the BMW 5 Series, which is launched this month and the third generation of the highly successful BMW X5 which arrives later in the year,” said Ian Robertson, head of sales and marketing for the Munich-based company, in a statement.
The 2014 BMW X5 enters its third generation with signature makeovers when it arrives in showrooms during the fourth quarter. The X5 has sold 1.34 million since its launch in 1999.
BMW will produce the X4 at the Greer facility in 2014 with the date for launch undisclosed.
