Student, 16, charged with carrying weapon on school property

A 16-year-old student has been charged following an altercation on a school bus with another student involving a dart, according the Greer Police Department.

Greer Police was contacted by an administrator with the Greenville County School District concerning a report of an incident on a school bus where a student possibly had a weapon. Officers with the GPD arrived on the scene within two minutes of receiving the call and learned that there were no longer any students on the school bus involved, according to GPD.

After an investigation into the incident, it was determined that two Greer High School students were involved in an altercation. During the altercation, one of the students, who is 16, took out a dart and threatened the other student with it.

The Greer Police Department has charged the juvenile with carrying a weapon on school property and interfering with the operation of a school bus.
