Sunday’s Greer Christmas Parade has been cancelled.
The parade was scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday but weather predictions are calling for snow and iced mixed overnight Saturday and into Sunday that would roads in the area dangerously slick.
Greer Relief’s announcement Saturday:
“Due to the weather and our concerns for safety the Greer Christmas Parade Committee is sad to announce the Greer Christmas Parade is canceled. The parade committee, which includes Greer Relief and the City of Greer, has concluded that based on predictions it is not safe to proceed with the parade. This was a hard decision to make, but weather predictions from multiple sources included a high likelihood of ice and snow on our roads. The safety of both our participants and the community are our top priority. We hope you are able to stay warm and safe during this weather storm.”
