The 26th Turkey Day Run Thursday is at Eastside High School.

The run begins at 9 a.m. and registration at 7:30 a.m., near John Carlisle Stadium on the grounds of Eastside High School at 1300 Brushy Creek Road in Taylors.

Runners and walkers enjoy the low-key community event on Thanksgiving morning.

"I really enjoy and appreciate the family/community atmosphere at this run," said co-event director Tom Fuduric.  "Each year people just show up with bags full of food to donate to those in need, and following the run, everyone hangs around to visit and catch up."

Participants can run or walk any distance. Distances are marked up to 10,000 meters.

Entry is five cans or $5 s to benefit Greer Community Ministries.
