The Blue Ridge Savings Bank case, an unsolved triple homicide that took place more than a dozen years ago in Greer, will be profiled Thursday morning on television in the Greenville market.

“Crime Watch Daily”, a show that highlights top crime stories in the U.S., will air the episode at 9 a.m. on WMYA channel 40.

Greer’s Sylvia Holtzclaw, and Spartanburg couple James “Eb” and Margaret Barnes were fatally shot during a robbery in the single-wide mobile home that housed the bank on Frontage Road and I-85 near Highway 14.

Holtzclaw, 56, was the lone teller inside the bank and the Barneses were customers. Eb Barnes, 61, was a physics professor and coordinator of the program at the University of South Carolina Upstate. His wife, Margaret, 58, was a receptionist and convention coordinator for the National Beta Club.

The Greer Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have kept the case open and continue to post posters and billboards asking for tips that would lead to an arrest and conviction.

The Holtzclaw family launched the Syl Syl Christmas Toy Drive in memory of Sylvia and her love of children. The toy drive benefits Greer’s Cops for Tots.
