Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce
Katie Witherspoon has been promoted to Vice President of Operations for the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce.
“Katie's promotion is very well deserved and her leadership will be instrumental in the future success of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce,” said Mark Owens, President and CEO. “Her knowledge and expertise of the chamber operations and how to best serve our members has been a key part of our chamber's success and will continue to be.”
Owens leaves the Greer Chamber on Dec. 1 for a similar position at the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Chamber of Commerce.
Witherspoon’s new position will include an expanded role in organizational management and will work closely with the Executive Committee and Board of Director as one of the two Chamber’s lead executives.
“Katie has been and continues to be a great asset to the Greater Greer Chamber,” said Greater Greer Chamber Chairman Rosylin Weston. “We look forward to her continued leadership in this new position, which includes managing the day-to-day operation of the chamber while we search for our next President/CEO.”
Witherspoon has led the chamber in sponsorships, business development programs, award-winning marketing campaigns and the nationally recognized GreerMade program.
“We have a great team at the chamber, and I am honored and excited about this new opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve our members at a high level,” said Witherspoon.
Witherspoon attended the University of South Carolina where she graduated magna cum laude from the school of journalism. She graduated Mauldin High School.
