Australian Nick Flanagan won the 12th annual BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament held at Thornblade Club today, but it didn’t come easy. It took three playoff holes against fellow Australian Cameron Percy before Flanagan notched his first win of the year. Flanagan also won the tournament in 2007. He finished the tournament at -15 under par (67, 70, 67, 67).
The win earned Flanagan $108,000 and moved him to 11th on the Nationwide Tour money list. The top 25 money leaders on the Nationwide Tour automatically earn playing status on the PGA TOUR in 2013.
Celebrity course rotations for the May 17-20 BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament were announced today as were updates to the celebrity list.
First-time participants include actor Richard Schiff of NBC’s The West Wing, actor Chris Rich of Reba and former major league (Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants) outfielder Reggie Smith. Returning to the tournament are actress Paula Trickey of USA Network’s Pacific Blue and actor Andy Buckley of The Office. Lucas Black, Javier Colon, Greg Kinnear and Bruce Greenwood have had to withdraw from the tournament due to schedule conflicts.
