BMW models X3, X5 and X6, manufactured in Greer, are among almost one-half million BMW vehicles – 156,137 in the United States – that are being recalled worldwide across a variety of lines.
BMW vehicles equipped with 6-cylinder engines are being recalled, more than 486,000 world-wide, because a defect could cause stalling or engine damage, the automaker said in a news release. The company filed the recall with the National Highway Traffic Administration last Wednesday.
BMW is planning a second North American factory to cater to the rising demand for its vehicles, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
The Munich-based carmaker is planning to build its bestselling 3-Series at the new plant and has been short-listing locations, with at least two sites in Mexico still being considered, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
Twenty-five celebrities will be in Greenville the week of May 12 for the BMW Charity Pro-Am, including 10 first-time participants. Officials also announced two new celebrity components, including featured celebrity groupings and six celebrities to play in Sunday’s final round.
The tournament is May 15-18 at Thornblade Club, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and, new this year, Green Valley Country Club.
