Tickets are on sale and registration for volunteers have been announced for the BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament May 19-22.
Daily ($10), patron ($25) and clubhouse ($50) tickets are available.
The Greer Inland Port rail moves were down 4.4 percent in January, according to the South Carolina Ports Authority.
The small decline on 7,457 rail moves could easily be contributed to the port closing in late January for 36 hours due to an ice storm that shut down BMW, its suppliers and other customers. There were 367 fewer rail mails in January 2015 compared to the same time this year.
Gerald Degen has been named the new Vice President of Logistics and Production Steering for BMW Manufacturing in Greer. He succeeds Philip Heinrichsdorff, who has returned to Germany to direct material control/delivery assurance for BMW Group.
Degen has been with BMW Group for 18 years. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. Degen began his career as a quality engineer in Munich and then joined the launch team to start up the Leipzig plant as Director of Final Assembly.

Thirty rising high school seniors will have the opportunity to explore manufacturing production processes and healthcare quality outcomes, to driving high-performance BMW’s.
The students will have the opportunity to apply both science and math principles using Lean and Six Sigma tools to manufacturing and healthcare situations during a two-week Academic Outreach Camp led by the University of South Carolina Upstate, BMW Manufacturing Co. of Greer and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS). The program is free.
A pre-bid conference will be held February 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at the BMW Site Operations Center Parking Lot, located at 1400 Highway 101, Spartanburg County, SC.
There will be a public opening of bids received at the South Carolina Inland Port Terminal, 100 International Commerce Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina, at 11:00 a.m., on March 9, 2016. Instructions for submitting a Bid are included in the specifications.
January sales of BMW brand vehicles decreased 4.7 percent in January for a total of 18,082 compared to 18,981 vehicles sold in January, 2015.
