The Greer High School Marching Band has spoken and band director Jeff Norman has heard them loud and clear. They are now officially the G Force Marching Band.
Norman, after much campaigning from his band members, told them that during one competition, at Boiling Springs last year, they would be allowed to be called the G Force. If there were enough support he would consider the name official.
BRAKES (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe), a free teen driving school, will be held at the BMW Performance Center on Saturday.
The non-Profit organization teen driving school is a 4-hour defensive driving school for teens 15-19 years old who already have their learner’s permit or driver’s license and at least 30 hours of driving experience. Parents are required to attend.
Matthew Gill, the band director at Northwood Middle school has a theory on finding marching band members. “If you can breath I can match you up with an instrument,” Gill said.
Gill has joined Greer High School as assistant director of the G Force Marching Band.
