A free two-day dance camp is scheduled Aug. 12-13 at Southern Dance Connection.
Children ages 2-years and up will be given dance instruction for 30 minutes in several disciplines. Classes are 5 – 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 4:30 – 8 p.m. on Aug. 13. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing, dance shoes or dance barefoot.
Necoia Gaskins of Riverside High School has been selected to The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).
The NSHSS recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.
Chuck Nicholas was awarded the Fifth Diamond Award by the National Speech & Debate Association during its annual tournament in Overland Park, Kan.
Nicholas, a Mauldin resident, serves as the speech and debate coach for Bob Jones Academy in Greenville. He has coached at BJA for more than 25 years and earned more than 13,000 coaching points. Nicholas becomes the highest ranked active coach in South Carolina by the National Speech & Debate Association.

CSI Junior Camp, for 8th-12 graders, is being offered by the Greer Police Department July 7-8 and 10-11 from 6-8:30 p.m.
