Wolfgang Puck is bringing his signature restaurant, The Kitchen, to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport as part of the $125 million terminal improvement project.
The restaurant is the Piece de resistance of the Grand Hall that will house commissioned artworks of the historic upstate, other restaurants and amenities that will brand GSP as one of the most contemporary airports of its kind.
Greer’s fine arts community was awarded two Accommodations Tax Grants totaling $14,125 Tuesday night at Greer City Council.
The City Auditorium Art Gallery was awarded $10,125 to provide lighting, hardware and signage for the building entrances on Line Street and Snow Street.
The Lake Cunningham shelter fee has been reduced while improvements to Lake Robinson has the park ready for the biggest usage time of the year.
Greer Commission of Public Works commissioners approved a $50 daily rate, down from $75, the past year for Lake Cunningham’s shelter. It has been rented only once this year.

The Riverside High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble have been invited to perform in the Inaugural SCBDA State Concert Band Festival.
Twenty-nine South Carolina high school bands qualified, but only16 earned an invitation to perform in the state festival. Riverside has two performing.
Cheeun Kang, of Riverside High School, won first place for her batik “Reminiscent” in the Painting Division at the 26th Annual Upstate High School Art Exhibit at Greenville Technical College Benson Campus.
Morgan Chopp’s mixed media work of “Eyes All Around" in the Drawing Division earned her an honorable mention.

The Greer Children's Theater is putting the finishing touches on production of Disney's The Lion King Jr. opening at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center on Friday at 7 p.m.
The GCT will run the show on consecutive weekends with show times on Friday, Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m.

The Greenville Chorale's spring concert, "A Great Sacred Song Fest," includes classical composers, sacred selections and hymns and spirituals in two concert performances: Sunday, April 17 at First Baptist Church, Greenville, and Sunday, April 24, at Taylors First Baptist Church.
