Republican candidates seeking two seats on Greenville County Council and a pair of seats in the state senate participated in a political forum Thursday night at the Cannon Center in Greer.
District 18 Councilman Joseph Baldwin, who represents Greer-Blue Ridge areas, was the only incumbent to attend the event. He is being challenged in the GOP June 14 primary election by Greer resident Mike Barnes, who was not in attendance due to an announced scheduling conflict.
A forum for County Council and legislative candidates in the Greer area will be held Thursday at the Cannon Centre from 7-9 p.m.
Invited to the forum are candidates for state Senate Districts 5 and 12, and County Council Districts 18 and 21. Invitees include Sen. Tom Corbin and John B. White Jr., Sen. Lee Bright and Scott Talley, David McCraw and Lisa Scott, County Councilman Joe Baldwin and Mike Barnes, and County Council candidates Lance Byars, Stacy Kuper and Rick Roberts.
