The 19th Annual July 4 Kids Parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday morning in Greer.

Greer Mayor Rick Danner and his family and friends organize the parade. Children and families are invited to enjoy the parade described by Danner as a “slice of Americana".

The parade covers the Arlington-Davenport neighborhood with police units leading the parade and trailing at the end. A fire truck precedes the many children on their bikes, walking and parents with strollers walking the three-block route.

Children, last year, were dressed head to toe in red, white and blue – hair also dyed in the patriotic colors – and sparkly head wear, bicycle streamers waving brilliantly, vibrant shoestrings, stars and stripes clothing and wagons adorned with everything representing the U.S.A. Pets are welcome.

Children trade waves with the neighbors sitting on their porches enjoying a tradition that is one of a kind in this proud community.
