Wow, I can't believe it is the last day of January, and with this very cold weather, it has been hard, I know, to be excited about your New Year Resolutions.

Author Wendy Blyth states in her blog, “But most, like me, soon forget our good-intended resolutions. We mean well. But life gets busy. We return to our old habits. To that which is comfortable and doesn't require so much sacrifice.”

She is right, isn't she? It's so much easier to go back to our old habits, unless you make the decision to replace a bad habit with a good one or make even a simple change such as the tip below from TSFL.

Switching your daily dose of water (eight, 8-ounce glasses) to ice water can burn an extra 74 calories a day. That may not seem like much, but it adds up to a whopping 7.7 pounds of fat per year. Not drinking enough water can lead to sugar cravings, fatigue, irritability, and foggy thinking. Dehydration also slows down fat burning.

So start February with one small step such as drinking all your water but making it ice water, each step will lead to a step closer to your goal.

Have a great weekend and have fun at your Super Bowl party.

Keep in mind that it took all season with hard work and dedication from each team to reach their goal, to play in the 2014 Super Bowl. They didn't give up. They kept their eye on the ball.

Will it be worth it in the end? Think better health and a skinnier you. I would shout “yes”!

Blessings,

Lisa Hawkins Lynn
