Samantha Bagley pitched and batted Greer to a 3-2 win over visiting Blue Ridge Friday that gave the Lady Yellow Jackets the Region II-AAA championship and No. 1 seed headed into the state softball playoffs.
Coach Ashleigh Anderson’s Greer team will play a first-round game at home next Friday with an opponent to be named later. Greer finished the regular season 17-3.
Bagley pitched the complete game victory and recorded two hits and a sacrifice fly to bring in all three runs.
Greer recorded four consecutive wins, all this week, since a loss at Pickens on April 12. The Lady Yellow Jackets scored 52 runs over the winning streak, shutting out Southside Monday and Tuesday 21-0 and 19-0, respectively.
The win over Blue Ridge gave Greer the regular season sweep over its rivals – winning at Blue Ridge on April 1, 8-5.
