Last year: Blue Ridge beat Wade Hampton 42-21.

What to look for:

BLUE RIDGE: Sophomore quarterback takes over the reins with senior wide receivers Brian Garrett and Tay Jennings feature speed and experience. The offense is bolstered with returning running backs Melvin Smith and Vonta Jenkins. Center Dillon Bull and tackle Gatlin Miller return as starters. The defense features Caleb Lynn on the line and Jenkins will start on defense as outside linebacker. Jon Michael Bright returns as kicker.

WADE HAMPTON: The Generals are emphasizing its youth, the core mostly sophomores and juniors, and got a glimpse of its season when Dorman won 49-7 last Friday. Senior quarterback Will Chandler will lead the offense but underclassmen such as sophomore Josh Edwards will gain playing time. Shared playing time will also be at running back with seniors Zay Edwards and Darien Mattingly. The offensive line features players who saw action last year. Defensively, the line is the bulwark of this Generals’ edition. Many of the players will get double playing time on offense and defense. That will wear the Generals down with teams like Spartanburg, Boiling Springs and Byrnes on the schedule.

Line: Blue Ridge 15. Points 46.
