Blue Ridge defeated Travelers Rest, 36-21, Friday night at Tiger Stadium on Homecoming.
The victory gives Blue Ridge a 2-5 overall record and 1-0 in Region 2-AAAA. Travelers Rest fell to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the region.
Senior Sage Hill was named the Blue Ridge High School 2016 Homecoming queen. She is the daughter of Matt and Martha Hill.
Blue Ridge highlights included:
• Quarterback Jake Smith completed a 39-yard TD pass
• Smith threw a pass to Jason Sammons who lateralled the ball to Ethan Rice on a 71-yard touchdown razzle dazzle play.
• Smith completed 10 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
• Sammons had 6 catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
• Drew Stanley scored on a 2-yard run.
Blue Ridge will host Union County next Friday.
