Blue Ridge High School FBLA wins recognition at State Leadership Conference
Members of the Blue Ridge High School FBLA chapter received recognition in several competitive events at the FBLA State Leadership Conferences held in Charleston April 12-14. The competitive events were part of a two-day program for FBLA members from around the state. The chapter had 17 members attending the two-day conference.    

The members placed in the following events:  

Carly Few and Ashling O’Boyle – 5th Place in Web Design; Kaylee Jo Fowler – 3rd Place in Electronic Career Portfolio; Amanda Nesta – 3rd Place in Business Plan; Abrianna Hill, Taylor Bowen, and Alyson Craig 3rd Place in Community Service Project; Jenna McCombs – Top 10 in Public Speaking; and Darrin Anderson – Top 10 in Healthcare Administration.  

The following students will be traveling to Anaheim, CA in June to compete at the 2013 National Conference: Zach Arms, Jon Andrews and Ryan Teems – 1st Place in Digital Video Production; Jayma Goodwin and Reagan Loftis – 1st Place in E-Business; Karlee Gibson and Kennedy Crump – 1st Place in Business Presentation; Heather Fitch and Charlee Wilkerson – 1st Place in Digital Design and Production; Taylor Bowen and Alyson Craig – 2nd Place in Digital Design and Production.

For more than 60 years, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) has helped middle and high school students successfully make the school-to-career transition. The Blue Ridge High chapter of FBLA is led by Stephanie Casey and Derek Wells.
