2012 Miss Greater Greer Teen Sydney Sill
Cabaniss and Sill each swept all three individual competitions. Cabaniss won the swimsuit, talent and evening gown competitions and Sill won the lifestyle/fitness, talent and evening gown.
Erin Frost was first runner-up and Brianna Taylor was second runner-up to Cabaniss.
Cabaniss, twice Miss Greater Greer Teen, said, "I think I must have broken some kind of record winning here for he third time," she said. "I know Greer well, the people are great and I have enjoyed being part of community.
"I wanted to get back to the Miss South Carolina pageant to reach my goal of being Miss America."
Cabaniss wore a yellow floor-length Givenchy gown. "We wanted to go with something unique. We tried yellow and I thought 'I can do something with this.'"
She danced for her talent and joined the contestants in trying to find a remedy for a slick floor. "It was slippery," Cabaniss said. "I used cracked resin to step on and ground my flats in it."
Cabaniss wore a coral colored two-piece bathing suit. Her platform benefits the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) with fundraising in restaurants where she coordinates non-profits to wait on tables for tips or ask restaurants to give 10 percent of the proceeds during an event.
Cabaniss was third runner-up in the Miss South Carolina pageant last year as Miss Greater Mauldin. She won the overall and preliminary swimsuit competition in Columbia.
Bry Atkinson was first runner-up and Josie Pettit second runner-up behind Sill in the Teen competition. Atchinson won the People's Choice Award, chosen by the most contributions to a contestant at intermission.
Sill said, "I'm looking forward to going back to Miss South Carolina Teen. I will know what to expect and how everything works. I won't be overwhelmed."
Sill added flair to her fitness/lifestyle wear competition with a high kick in front of the judges. She wore a blue outfit with white athletic shoes . She wore a fuchsia evening gown and her talent was dance.
Sill's platform is with the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Greenville. She had two rods placed in her back when she had surgery as a 4-year-old for a back condition. "I was told I would never be able to dance again," she said.
Sill was second runner-up in the 2011 Miss Teen contest competing as Miss Greater Lyman. She won overall sportswear and won her preliminary in physical fitness.
Cabaniss and Sill will compete in the Miss South Carolina pageant July 10-14 in Columbia.
