First baby of 2014 welcomed at Greer Memorial

Hayden Claire Skipper decided to make New Year’s Day more special than Christmas.

The little girl was delivered at Greer Memorial Hospital at 7:33 a.m. making her the first baby born for 2014 at the hospital.

Hayden weighted 10 pounds and 7 ounces and was 21-inches long. She is the daughter of Keri and Kenny Skipper of Greer and has a 4 one-half year old sister, Avery. Kenny is an 8th grade teacher at Greer Middle School.

Hayden was due at Christmas.

The first baby born in Greenville County was Karl D. Lanier III, at 1:54 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Hospital, to parents Rosita Ellington and Karl Lanier, Jr., according to GHS spokesperson Karen Potter.
