This week, Oct. 5-11, is fire prevention week.
Ford and his young friends were given a tour of the fire station, saw the cabin inside the fire trucks, visited where the firefighters slept and ate while working long shifts and watched a fireman slide down the pole to the first floor.
Parents Adam and Shelly had a cake made with a fire engine and Dalmatian design.
“It was a great place to have a party for kids that age,” said Adam Ford, father of Emery. “The guys couldn’t have been nicer.”
Firefighters take the opportunity to promote fire prevention and safety as part of its educational programs that reach more than 6,000 residents annually from school children to senior citizens.
