Greer held its National Night Out Tuesday at City Park with the community and police officers mingling together.
The weather cleared fight before the event and a large turnout appeared when the sun appeared.
Neighbors from surrounding communities played games, talked with officers and socialized in a friendly environment.
The idea is to get to know each other better in an effort to improve safety and build relationships.
A tent for Pokémon Go players was also available.
Greer leaders opted to have the event at the park this year to have more space to host stations to share information and participate in games with children.
