"By having this year’s event at Topgolf we hope that we will be able to reach more potential players since people with all skill levels can participate and the tournament can be held rain or shine, said Lt. Patrick Fortenberry. Topgolf provides golf clubs.
The golf tournament is part of the annual campaign to raise funds to provide Christmas gifts for under privileged children that live in the Greater Greer area so that no child is left without presents on Christmas Day.
In 2018, the GPD was able to provide presents to over 200 children. This year will mark the 31st year in which the GPD has been able to make a difference in many children’s lives.
"The Cops for Tots Golf Tournament has become a fun and important annual event to support children in our community," Fortenberry said. "Thanks to the generosity of our community members and businesses who make it successful, we are able to brighten the lives of many children and start to build a relationship with them."
